Okay – I’m about to drop some insight with regard to my good buddy lilrascal. I guess it’s not incredibly concrete – but it’s something keep in mind, imo.

So he comes into the thread during lunch on d1, when he clearly doesn’t have time to post. He makes exactly the kind of posts that make people jump on you and go to town. I edited out the unimportant parts of these posts, because they don’t add very much.

And is immediately forced to defend himself:

So he mentions twice that this is a regular occurrence for him – being unable to keep up in mishmashes and getting lynched because of it. I doubt that he’s lying, because that’s an easy lie to get called out on. But in spite of that fact, he tries anyway. He comes in during lunch on d1, knowing ahead of time what is going to happen (I think). But he just wants to play werewolves. My theory is that if he were a wolf he simply wouldn’t have tempted fate.

D2, what happens? Same thing. Check in during lunch without anything amazing to contribute. Regardless, he sticks around, makes a few reads, tries to have an impact.

No lunch visit today, but he did check in in the parking lot at work just so he could get a shot off during ITAs. Like, yes it could be an elaborate level, but I’m seeing this as the actions of a villager who is doing is utmost to participate when and where he can.

I realize that this is could be regarded as minor, and that it occurred 54 hours ago. But I think it’s relevant to consider. If you can find and deduce villagery motivations behind a (newer) player’s actions, it can be just as clearing as spew – and in this game, with multiple factions, I would potentially trust somebody like lilrascal over various other people who have nothing going for them other than a shot on a wolf.

Now, all of that said, he hasn’t made any sort of amazing contributions in the evenings even when he did have the time, and he shot at yippee today. And honestly, a lot of his posts are mechanical in nature. But he did shoot at suq (stark) yesterday, or at least tried to, which is just as good, and a little something else in his favor.

I guess I don’t feel the need to white knight him or anything, but I do feel as though there are probably better shots – we already have what like, 6 really good ones? And I at least wanted to lay it out in case anyone else thought it relevant.
