Good day and welcome to Foxlrus: The Crimson Fox Walrus!

It is Walrus the First for me. I love music. Love to listen to it. Love to sail away on it. Love to let it take me places, cheer me up, help me get down, empathize, sympathize, and pasteurize...

And I want YOU dear internet to help me enjoy some of your tunes. So without further adieu, here are the rules...

Rules

- Submit ONE (1) song for each of the below categories to me at my Freddy Fazbear account. I will repeat this in big letters later.
- When submitting a song, please use a youtube link or similar.
- I will rank and score the submissions according to personal taste
- Submission deadline is August 8th, sometime around whenever I get around to deciding. I will be at Gencon for a week so this will give you all time to find me something cool to listen to. Perhaps I'll add it to my playlist whilst wandering around the gaming halls.

Detailed categories

1. A song that evokes fantasy. This can be in feeling, in sound, in mood, in atmosphere, in lyrics, in words, in story. Fantasy as in wizards, witches, castles, knights, kings, queens, dragons, talking animals, magic, fairy tale, wonder, etc...
2. A song that evokes science fictions. This can be in feeling, in sound, in mood, in atmosphere, in lyrics, in words, in story. Science fiction as in future, space, aliens, robots, other worlds, other dimensions, ultra science, spaceships, etc...
3. A song that evokes mystery or horror. This can be in feeling, in sound, in mood, in atmosphere, in lyrics, in words, in story. Horror, creepiness, terror, halloween feelings, twilight zone, jack the ripper, sherlock holmesian, dickensian, missing persons, demons, darkness, werewolves, vampires, etc, etc.
4. A song that evokes a particular time of day. . (Daybreak, Morning, Daytime, Dusk, Nighttime, Twilight, Afternoon, etc) Name that time… it can be titled that, be about that, or give you the feel of that...
5. Self explanatory
6. Pretty self explanatory. Something with an eerie or haunting quality. Something that gives a supernatural or spiritual vibes or nature.
7. Depress me. Sometimes when I feel depressed a song like this really picks me up. When I'm not, it still makes me sad.
8. The opposite. Something that will put a smile on my face. Something that's pure joy and fun to listen to. Makes me drive faster, sing louder, and makes me smile.
9. Something Heavy. But it must have discernable melody.
10. Something light. Give me your best wuss rock song.
11. Tell me a story. Plain and simple. Give me a song that tells me a story.
12. A humorous song by a serious group. (Not looking for Weird Al Yankovic or parody song or funny song by a group of comedians. Humourous song by a group or artist that ordinarily just does regular songs.)
13. An epic song. Truly...give me something awesome here. (If it is less than 5 minutes I will be thoroughly disappointed.)

What I like: Rock. I like rock. And everything that touches it. Rock came from a LOT of things and when these things blended styles and touched rock, they became something more interesting to me. Heavy, Hard, Light, Blues, Country, Jazz, Opera, R&B, Classical, Pop, Electronic, Synth, Bubblegum, Old-time, Croon, Funk, Folk, etc...when they all meld with something rocky, even slightly I like them. Any of those things on their own and I might like it but less likely. I like melody. I like harmony. I LOVE interesting lyrics and concepts. Words that make me think. Make me stop thinking. I like interesting beats. I really like musicians that can play. REALLY PLAY. No matter what the instrument (piano, synths, guitars, brass, percussion, whatever). Everything adds to the genius of a song. I want a song that gives a crap about being a song.

AGAIN REMEMBER THIS IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION!
SEND YOUR NUMBERED LIST TO MY FREDDY FAZBEAR ACCOUNT!

Peace out!

Walrus Ho!

I'll try to in this, but looking over those entries I have no clue what I could send that a) you'd like and b) you'd not have heard before. Also I won't be around for the reveal which takes away a bunch of the fun. But I will try nonetheless.

Quick Q: Why not send the OP from Freddy Fazbear?

I like a lot. and there's a lot I haven't heard before.
But I don't really want to list every group i've heard before because I don't know everything from a lot of groups.

I have probably heard every classic rock song that's played on classic rock radio. And some of them I like but have heard them so much that I can't listen to them anymore. So superuberhits I might not actually like as much anymore.

I don't know when I'll start the reveal. I will be VERY tired (and partially hungover) on the 9th.

And the answer to your last question is BECAUSE!

for what i have in mind as examples of this category, they are still GOOD SONGS. It's mostly in the lyrics that it is humorous

Things that are musically whimsical/silly/humourous...i don't know. I mean it still has to be a good song. Can music itself be humourous (and not stupid or annoying)?
