If chips wanted to do it he would be a great mod. Others that I think would be better than the most of the names suggested are gabe, andy, bigger, wahoo, and bsball.

People I've had pretty vociferous arguments with. I don't think getting too deeply into it is helpful for this thread, but there are people here who have made clear they hate me. Which is their right, but when it spills into public threads, I don't think it's a good thing.

I don't think anyone hates chips or TL (or well named).

And as someone said earlier, anyone who hasn't ever had a heated argument with anyone else on 2p2 is not cut out to be a mod.

Interesting.

Out of those options listed I think you'd be the best. Basically I feel that despite any personal feelings you definitely have the ability to rationally look at all sides of an issue and reach a good conclusion.

Is left 4 dead really worth spending 400 hours on?

Oh, TL & WN both have

TL multiple multiple times, she's just been right almost ... like 90% of the time

WN much less but he's right in an elegant way lol

chips, gabe, or bsball all seem fine to me if they wanted to do it

I love andy but I feel like he's a little too emotions-on-his-sleeve and I'm not sure he'd want to do it. He'd probably be fine that's just the only thing I'd worry about

wahoo I'd worry would just explain all his decisions with one liners which might not make for the smoothest communication :P

bigger is kind of like andy I guess for me.

I mean the truth is most poggers are smart capable people and could be good moderators. I don't think I'm more capable or better suited then them. I imagine some of the preferences expressed are just social dynamics and have nothing to do with who would actually be good. And of course you have to ask who wants to do it.

I was not referencing anyone but atak with that post. He thinks that being involved in heated arguments in the past makes decreases his worth as a candidate, and it's not the case.

NB: he's obv not as good a candidate as cphoya.

I would ban SEers and women

Thank you — I don't think I'm ever getting modded, but I'll take it as a compliment irrespective of the immediate issue.

I would group you with the others I listed. You 7 would be my short list after chips.

Probably not but its a great game with friends. Very stimulating.

I had a lot of fun playing it but 400 hours kinda shames me. I sometimes exit the game to windows and I think the time keeps counting so it may be like 300 real hours or 250. Still sounds like a lot of time. Oh well.

im not sure its cool for you to publish that info in the open btw, what I mean to say is: dont publish any more information about me publicly without asking me before, please.

Not angry or anything but I dont know, i didnt like it.

Here's a for proof

Popular and well liked are really overrated mod characteristics.
04-04-2012 , 04:34 PM
Chips Ahoy is the best mod candidate atm iyam

Thanks a lot WN but I'm not fit to be a mod for the reason you pointed out, too emotional, hence somewhat unreliable/unpredictable

You made me smile anyway!
04-04-2012 , 04:39 PM
all the options seem fine
if youre doing more than one tho Id imagine you wouldnt want two similar people.

Maybe like 1 who would be better at spending a lot of time hearing out multiple sides of various arguments

and 1 better at keeping it real and dropping the hammer
04-04-2012 , 04:40 PM
TL, Well Named, Chips Ahoy, and Atakdog are the 4 best mod candidates around (including all of the active mods).

I dont even think its particularly close.

yes, but no one is picking people because they are popular, they are picking individuals who _they_ like and interconnectedly think have good judgment. It's just that popular people ldo have more individuals who individually like/respect them.

There are plenty of people i like who i think would be bad mods, there might be people i don't necessarily like who i think might be good mods (can't think of any atm, but whatever), but if i respect someone's judgment, i'm obviously more likely to like them than not. Mass that up to a group dynamic and voila.

unpopular and disliked aren't exactly great selling points, nor is ignored or barely conscious of, to say nothing of ambivalent about.
04-04-2012 , 04:41 PM
I love CPHoya to death but I cant see him as a mod for some reason.
04-04-2012 , 04:44 PM
I'm liked because I do a lot for POG.

as well as being awesome, ldo, but probably for a lot of people the fact that I run a lot of games/look after noobs/run the scheduling thread/etc is enough to like me
