We did learn that eyebooger smuggles dwarfs with a net and keeps them in his yard.

If I knew we had only 1 America, Dwarf would have been more in the mix for sure. Still might not have said it, though.

You almost said yard, so figured saying 3 made yard a lock. Thought net and smuggler were pretty clear. Dwarf was a massive stretch, but couldn't think of anything better. Plus weren't a bunch of dwarves captured in one of the LOTR movies?

I didn't understand your seemingly unending desire to say center, but I'm here and you're there, so I can't judge.

On to Game 5!

For me, the center thing was just due to a lack of other options / POE. Plus I could twist it to fit captured.

Wasn't seeing jet as America, but I guess the Boeing thing AK brought up makes sense.

America 10 may have been a bit aggressive, but I think we gave them a decent sweat in the end. Sticky was good, and food - 0 was pretty informative as well.

Blue recap...

racebook 4 - horse, horseshoe, park, casino. I did choose the wording carefully to get you to casino. I knew fence was possible, overlooked lap. They were both neutral so no biggie.

zipper 2 - pants, lock. I didn't choose this over zip/zipped for any particular reason, but I guess I should've been more deliberate about it since the team put a lot of focus on it.

Paleontology 6 - dinosaur, genius, microscope, oil, park, sub. I was hoping red would guess oil for America but then Synthol 0 took that away. I chose -y over -ist because I wanted to put more focus on the fossils to get oil/sub... I thought the scientist angle of it would be inferred. The team focus on crane was a happy accident.

incantation unlimited - I wanted a chance to catch up, since we had several missed words and red just went on a big run. I didn't see a good way to group spell with anything so decided to use a 1 clue to go unlimited. I didn't expect the team to consider block along with spell, but that was ours anyway, so again would've been a happy accident. Most of the makeup words were guessed here, so mission accomplished.

Sensei 2 - genius, block. Didn't consider arm/palm as strong possibles for this.

slab 2 - marble, block. The final word (kiwi) was unclued, but you didn't know that. At least a neutral word was guessed.

I had ideas for marble and kiwi but I needed pumpkin off the board, I thought red would guess it for America, and was getting frustrated when they wouldn't. I thought that might become an issue in the endgame.

Great game all. The double board is definitely more challenging, but that makes it more fun!

I think the concept of America 10 (or another 10 clue) is not bad if there is a clear lock of at least 7 picks. If we pick off 7 and get the next one wrong, the game is long enough to narrow things down. If we get lost early, though (as we did) we were kinda doomed.

Problem here was that we had too many possible america clues, and too few really strong america clues. Initially e_holle, Carl and I had pistol, moon, and oil (and they both had arm) in their top choices. So, when pistol was wrong, we were confused, and then moon was wrong, and being steered off oil..... I think we just collectively felt lost, and that anything we thought about an America clue seemed worrisome.

But, considering we had hardly any win equity at one point, we almost won this game... so kudos to you for pressing on..

I had net/smuggler/yard/chick when playing along at home just now. Who eats adorable baby chickens?
