there is horsepower and torque

torque is the amount of force and is measured in foot pounds and a higher torque engine will go faster at lower RPMs

and engine is still on the list for 4 cylinder anyway, but foot definitely helps it if anything, doesn't hurt it

I honestly don't remember a more obscure connection made in codenames where a team wasn't in a hail mary situation. Engine could still be correct, but I'd bet a lot of money it's not for that reason

Anyway re: dino and sloth... the only reason we have these on the list to begin with is they are 4-legged (do sloths technically have hands tho? idk, they're weird), so when he says foot it just confirms the connection imo. No reason to overthink that

I don't think foot clues hard towards or away from engine especially given this new info. Foot makes the animal words and parade stronger and the rest is less clear, so those + bill should be at the top.
Bill + top 8 could mean that maybe green is the first incorrect word after all and we all agree that was weak anyway. I don't mind guessing engine or spring as 8th/9th word or putting them high backup but no need to guess them early.

Sloths have arms and legs so foot puts me more on Dino and less on sloth

But I think it’s ok either way

Take my last list and move things around if you want so we can have a concrete list to discuss; saying you aren’t sure how good/bad a word is doesn’t tell us how far you want to move it up/down the list

I’m pretty flexible as I feel good about our overall list so think we should be in good position next turn regardless

I am not a huge fan of mixing up order too much from turn to turn tho

Probably we should go our best foot words at top then top 2 from prior list next then keep most of rest in same order

There’s the modern-day spray mace and the old-school weapon mace.

Blacksmith - mace maker
Fog - spray?
Hook - does the weapon have a hook?
Knight - wielded a mace
Slug - hit someone with a mace?
Stream - another word for spray

Stream, Knight, and Blacksmith are my favorites.

is stream that good? I didn't even think anything of it and have never heard the expression "stream someone with mace". I like knight for sure - fog(just creepy and when you'd want it), water, nurse would be my favorite for the other meaning. I figure we need at least 1 of each meaning since we could have gotten another weapon - makes me a little uncertain on blacksmith but it's possible we get it for 2 old school mace words/1 mace spray word.
