I don't understand anyone's clues

None of us get each other’s clues for the most part

burnt out on the game a little tho and finding it hard to try to solve people's clues

My clue is the kind where if you see the connection then you DEFINITELY see the connection

So funny story. I'm playing this game with my friends and family. I'm definitely taking it a bit more seriously than them and I also am the type of person to play games like this on a poker forum and they are not. That should tell you enough.

Anyways, the topic is sea creatures and clue is mermaid. I proceed to clear every single person with the exception of one because her clue was too broad. The clues? Rose, twizzler, carrot, blanket, bowl, school. Rose and twizzler because they are predominantly red and carrot for carrot top. (Ariel's hair). Bowl for her trinkets and blanket because I thought my sister (who clued it) had a little mermaid blanket. Turns out it was a towel but whatever. I voted school because it was so broad trying to accommodate all fish.

The kicker? They were punking me. They all sent in random words to poke fun at how hard my clues were, and I still made connections!

Point is, I get it. I have made connections in these games that were either mere coincidences or straight up figments of my imagination. I've been awful and nobody should pay attention to me. But just consider that I do know all that and I'm still clearing everybody but one.

I'm like 90% sure I ****ed up gad's intentions with his clue. Unfortunately I don't know enough about what I need to know to confirm. I have the very slightest brain activity that's trying to get me there but at this point I can't tell if it's real or imagined.
