Godzilla vs Kong

Abababababa woulda been better this year the 11th pick’s duo is one of the best duos and he gets to start round 3

Oh well, I got a few options for rounds 3&4 and hopefully two fall to me and I’ll be in a good spot

I should get 450-525M from my first 2 picks

GvK was in the running for our 1st round pick. Ultimately we were scared of a delay.

I think it’s a good sign it was moved to November; that’s a strong date for WB movies; they did Harry Potters there, for instance

They showed it off at Comic Con in Brazil this month including a clip of Kong punching Godzilla that is super hyped so hoping it can do decent. Won’t cap but what will at this point?

Yeah, that's what I was saying in the other thread. But it probably doesn't make much difference in the end anyway.

Godzilla burned me last year. It's fine in the spot it was taken, but round 1 is definitely too soon.

Struggling here...but I'll go out on a limb a bit and say

Red Notice

we'll go Morbius

I'm having difficulty finding a super hero released during summer that didn't do 200m or more

and while there isn't much known about this yet, it was the same thing with Venom, and it's the same studio, so expecting the same thing here

finally, it has like zero competition for a month after its release

Didnt realize that Halloween pulled in almost 160.

So instesd of taking an original property, im going to continue the bastardization of Hollywood and take Halloween Kills

Morbius was my other option if not for Godzilla vs Kong. It shoulda gone earlier

I think an outside shot at 150-175 is pretty good for a third rounder

I was taking it if Thingy didnt. Considered it for my round 2, but I think Dune has a higher upside.

I just don't see Dune doing more than 100M tops

I don't think it has mass appeal

By release date alone, it should get a bump from a near Christmas release. Not to mention the cast is stacked and the director has some killer credits.

I guess if you comp it to Blade Runner then im in a bit of trouble, but Blade Runner had a really poor release date comparitively

yeah, good director and cast; maybe it'll end up being a Fury Road success

But even that best case scenario only made $150M domestic

I'll root for Dune. It's a stunning novel and it's a crying shame how bad the 1984 movie with Kyle MacLachlan was.
