Hearst's hired thugs were out in force tonight. Montecore had spoken out against her husband's killer, which to a man like Hearst made her an inconvenience to be dealt with - just like anyone else who would thwart his will. Yet, looking at the state they left her in, her murder felt like a clear escalation of hostilities.
