I played Survivor in January. Timing on the few other mishmashes since then hasn't worked out.

I've also skipped out knowing there are a few good games on the horizon that I really want to play: Anniversary, GOT4, HP6 and whenever MTG3 happens.

Have to play those major championships, imo.

disney was great. wire 2.0 was really good.

i'm expecting star wars to be amazing.

there's been plenty of great games, and i'll play all the big mashes for sure. but i do understand people not wanting to play those games and would rather play a smaller, more technical game w/ less mechanics.

the thing about Hoya is, for me his villa game isn't on par with many of the others that will go in the 1st round. i don't know if he's intentionally withholding or what, but i feel like this is probably part of what makes him dangerous, and a fairly balanced player.

imo, this needs to change.

We go to all sorts of trouble to painstakingly design and schedule these elaborate mish-mashes. Then we stand by and watch them not fill. I think there is a small core group of the elite, popular players and the old-timers who can draw a crowd to a game. It is frustrating to watch games not fill because some of these folks are off playing in the same old 13-player vanilla game that starts up twice a week.

Maybe this isn't the right time or place for this little rant.

I guess what I'm saying is, that it is really fun to play with the best players, especially when you're on a wolf team together. This needs to happen more often. What's keeping them away?
Mish-Mashes evolved to the point that they have very little in common with the game that they originated from. I just want to look at people's posts and soulread them. This isn't possible in games that are so big that you don't even have time to look at the entire thread, and where being a good villager means keeping a spreadsheet of actions and roleclaims and using your powers to mow down all of the unconfirmeds, etc. It seems like an incredible amount of drudgery that gets in the way of the aspects of the game that I find enjoyable.

I actually enjoy playing games that are somewhat larger than the 13ers and 17ers that I mostly play nowadays, but not many games run with 20-35 players and I have to pass on most of them either because the timing doesn't work well for me or because the roleset looks unbalanced or uninteresting.

Insanity31 has kindly agreed to escrow guesses.

If you want to take a guess, PM your guess to Insainty31. Preferrably in the title of the PM as ([Your name] Guess - Pick x.xx)

draft has been extremely predictable up to this point

and that includes the binkles/jim stalling then trading down routine
