1) Not a person.
2) It is a a thing.
3) It is unique.
4) It is on earth.
5) It is in the U.S.A.
6) It did not exist before 1950.
7) It did exist before 1990.
8) It would not be considered art.
9) It is shorter but wider than a person.
10) You would see it at a museum or exhibition.
11) I don't know if it is heavier than 30 kg. It is probably close to 30 to say 60 kg.
12) It is usually located indoors.
13) It is not something more than 20 people touch per day on average.
14) I am not 100% sure that it is mainly made of metal but it appears to be mainly made of metal.
15) It does not (or did not) have a function mainly related to computing, electronics or transportation.
16) It does not relate to science.
17) It is a prop from a movie or TV show (including characters).
18) It is not from a sci-fi or fantasy movie (including any of the Star Wars films).

Notes added previously:

To clarify 14). I would say a bit over half of it is made out of something that has the appearance of metal. I would go a little further to help out here. The part that looks like metal could be plastic or painted wood. It could also actually be metal but I don't have info on this so that is why I am saying it could be other materials. This may be a big hint. Dunno.

Ok I actually think this is a pretty big clue. Some would argue that there is some degree of art, computing, electronics or transportation, and science related to this thing (Answers 8, 15, and 16).

There is one error in this post. See your 17) question. This mention of your error is a big clue.

I may give you another clue if you do not figure out the error.

Don't really know where to go from here.

I don't think it's going to be a robot, actually. Something I keep forgetting is that RR said only a bit over half of it has the appearance of metal, so that probably rules out robots.

Something I thought of is Captain Kirk's chair from TOS. It seems to be a pretty good fit, but I'm not sure if it was also used in any of the movies (maybe some Trekkies can help with this?). With the new Star Trek movie out, it's also something RR might think of.
