Sometimes wolves will SHC themselves once. Sometimes. Twice is mega FPS (fancy play syndrome) and almost unheard. That means the wolves would have made not one, but two, nightkills where they knew they weren't hitting the seer. That's bad.

you definitely do not have to ensure your wolf peek gets lynched that day, you just can't die without disclosing it somehow

banks winning this doesn't surprise me, the mechanics are totally comfortable for him

Well in 9ers a wolf peek means you mislynched day 1 and it's ML+1 so it's very special circumstances. In longer games not getting your wolf peek lynched has advantages. It makes it much tougher to kill you. Passive is a better way to deal with wolf peeks: fake or real.
