The report was deafening in the small area.
The sheriff turned her head from her drink. That noise....could it have been? She started toward the door, but the items on the table caught her eye again. She hesitated. Do they mean what she thinks she means? She took another sip of her drink, then decided it could wait. "Trust your instincts, woman. See what that noise was."
She unstrapped her gun and turned the handle of her door. Suddenly, a tightness gripped her chest. She choked, "It....burns..." and fell to the floor, dead.
IT IS DAY
"Yo, dick", a voice game from behind him. "God ain't your bitch."

"Sorry," said Silman. "I really was coughing. Go ahead."
Kowboys cleared his throat and began again, "The evidence is clear! Well, clear enough! Noah..."

"Oh for crying out loud," said Duck. "Just hang him and give that man some water."

The dark haired woman knelt down at her friend's side. She leaned toward her ear. "We'll talk later. Don't worry," she whispered.
"Oh, you'll talk sooner than that" a voice came from behind.
Suddenly the room brightened in a horrifying light. Almost as horrifying as the screams.

"I think it's going pretty well. *cough*" she responded.
"You know what I think we should do tomorrow? We should..."

"Was that a train?" thought the man at the bar. "No, I'm just tired. I have to stop thinking. Dammit, I'm just going to do it!" He steeled himself, then gulped the drink. "huh, not so bad," he thought. "I could develop a taste for...huuuuuuurk"
He began to violently twitch and cough. Black goo sputtered from his lips and nose. With his last, clear breath he gasped is final words.
