Its fine if you count both as correct but grouping them isn't imo. If the question was name a bird, eagle and bald eagle wouldn't be grouped.

If there was a trident II and a trident III in use then people should be asked to clarify their answer. If there is only one trident in use then I don't think it matters if people put the number or not.

9. Name a novel or novella by Aleksander Solzhenitsyn. (Books published separately are counted separately).

I guess no big Solzhenitsyn fans here. His August 1914 is my favorite novel.

Sorry, not specific enough. I don't think it's fair to the other players who were specific to accept them.

As for the missiles, I am pretty sure there is one version in operation for Trident and Minuteman, so I grouped them together. I'm just glad no one said the N. Korean ICBM, which I believe has not been tested successfully.

11. Name a person pictured below:

OK, I guess this one was a bit obscure, if you're not a Sovietophile like me. But there were two Americans I thought most people would recognize. The first picture is a red herring, I thought some of our European friends would recognize her (she has appeared in the Eurovision Song contest, I think).

Left to right, from the top:

Lena Katina, Russian pop star and half of singing duo Tatu.
General Zhukov, Commander of the Red Army and of the occupation of East Germany.
Dwight David Eisenhower (West Point)
Yuri Gagarin, first cosmonaut in space
Joseph Stalin
V.I. Lenin
Inessa Armand, Lenin's alleged mistress.
Kim Philby, double agent
Lavrenti Beria, NKVD (KGB) chief
Nadyezhda Krupskaya, Lenin's wife (her first name means "hope")
Gary Powers, shot down by the Soviets in 1960.

I knew gagarin would sheep.

Also for next time passes are usually grouped and score however many people pass instead of zero. More of a strategic move and less of a freebie that way.

EDIT: even though I knew gagarin would sheep I still had to put him simply because he was awesome.

Ugh, I knew Ivan Denisovich but thought it would sheep big. I could have aced with that and used my pass on the Von Trapp. Or I could have not brain-farted on the Dostoevsky question...so close!

Though I also almost reached for Ethel Rosenberg for the pic of Lenin's mistress, but wasn't sure (checking, it actually does look a little bit like her).

Thanks NumberSix, gg TL
