We really need more participants, Slugger had some great ideas. Anyone with some ideas on ways we can recruit people to actually do the action plan daily? Would be great if we could get a discussion going somewhere on ideas. Not sure if this thread is the right place or not?

Spread to training site forums. Cannot imagine any not endorsing a legislative forum.

it's posted on Deuces and P5s, maybe others? I don't think most people realize how easy it is to tweet.

There are a few posters at FeBREWary's NC Thread talking up NOT doing this. They even have a little bit of superiority complex about not participating.

I read the thread and I'm not going to participate in stirring it up. There were only a couple people dissing the daily actions and I don't think it's worth tilting us. I'm not going to go trolling that forum just because a couple of people disagree with what we're doing. If they don't want to do it, that's fine. And no one else in that thread seems to be responding positively to them anyway. Why stir the pot?

I like peer to peer too. It removes the negative altogether. I didn't mind him using the word losers in that context.

Let's continue telling the Payroll Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance, and Medicare Physicians Payment Fix Conference Committee to include online poker in their discussions. The committee needs to resolve this matter by the end of February, so the timing is perfect for us.

If they don't act, we still benefit by the effort itself, as the members of the conference committee are leaders in the House and Senate! These take just a couple of minutes each, so thanks for participating:
  1. Let's send the Conference Committee members + Sen. Reid & Sen. McConnell tweets urging inclusion of federal online poker legislation: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
  2. Let's post and like pro-poker comments on the Facebook walls of Conference Committee members Rep. Brady, Rep. Walden and Sen. Casey HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
  3. Let's send a NEW prefilled tweet promoting today's action plan HERE.
Please reply in this thread with "tweeted", "done", etc. to encourage others to participate. The past 145 actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!

--------------------

If you wish to do more today, let's reach out to the Payroll Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance, and Medicare Physicians Payment Fix Conference Committee via Facebook with respectful requests urging inclusion of federal online poker legislation. Simply like the pro-poker posts and make a short, supportive post of your own. When commenting on preexisting posts, please be sure the post is appropriate for pro-poker comments. [Speed tip: Search for "poker" or "2366" with CTRL-F, then choose "highlight", to identify poker posts quickly.]:

HR 2366 would license poker as a skilled form of gaming where every game, the winners and losers are always players. There is no “house”. (Make sure they understand this isn't video poker)

Recognize that the future of the #gaming industry-just like the future of retail or entertainment-will be online. (Makes it seem inevitable)

H.R. 2366: Internet Gambling Prohibition, Poker Consumer Protection, and Strengthening UIGEA Act of 2011 (Let's them know the bill does more than just license poker).

Several states are on the verge of full fledged in state online gambling, not just poker. (Gets the conservative right interested).

Then close it with the original; HR 2366 is a bill with bi partisan support that could help offset the cost of the tax cut extension (demonstrates value).
Thanks. I used a variant for today's plan.

The Monday action plan will include:
  • Let's post and like pro-poker comments on the Facebook walls of Sen. Ayotte, Sen. Begich, Sen. Bennet, Sen. Bingaman, and Sen. Blumenthal: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE (I'll update this just prior to posting for walls where we'll be posting comments to existing posts.)
There are several senators whom we've reached via Twitter but not (yet) via a formal Facebook action. I think we can gain by picking them up over the next few weeks.
