I noticed this too and changed subject to "Please Support Our Poker Rights."

Kentucky's Gov. Steve Beshear will NEVER allow poker to go forward in Kentucky. There are only two ways to handle that in this state:

(1) Kentucky vote him out of office on Tuesday. or

(2) The PPA should call for ALL gambling to be federally regulated, including horse racing. That will send Beshear to the bargining table to prevent that change in a heartbeat and might make him more favorable to allowing online poker in Kentucky.

Remember, he is the governor who has been trying to seize all poker sites and still wants them completely shut down.

Sometimes it takes a carrot. In Beshear's it will take some brute political force and the above idea would get his attention very quickly and cause quite the panic in the halls of Frankfort.

I also changed it to "Support Online Poker" since the purpose of my message was not to urge my governor to urge herself to support her own poker rights.

As RollWave said, we should fix the title of the message to our governors. Just make it "please support poker rights" or something to that effect.

I missed it. Sent mine yesterday via the PPA email sent to me. I'll wait a couple days and send it again with a deferent subject.

Edit: Crap, didn't even notice the opening of the letter. I hope they don't discount the email because of the poorly worded greeting.

Beshear ran on a pro-casino platform. He is opposed to offshore sites, as he sees these as competing with other state gaming interests. He was also sold on his current approach in suing sites by a team of contingency-fee only lawyers. IMO he thought he'd get only kudos for this, but he's gotten only a lot of flack for it instead.

All of us in Kentucky need to tell Beshear that we do not support his efforts here. It takes just 30 seconds to send the letter.
