thinking about going to Amsterdam for tournament series thinking about going to Amsterdam for tournament series

Hey all, the Holland Casino is hosting a tournament series in Amsterdam from Nov. 6 - 17 and since I'm always looking for an excuse to go to Amsterdam I was thinkin about going. I had a couple questions about the way they run tournaments in Holland, for anyone who has ever played there (especially US citizens). My questions are -

1) Does the Dutch govt withhold winnings from foreign nationals the same way the US govt does to foreign players at the WSOP?
2) Do I only have to pay US taxes on anything I win, or Dutch taxes as well?
3) For anyone who's played in this particular series before, is it realistic to expect to get there the day before the first tournament starts and still be able to register (the tournaments are all capped at like 400 people)?

Thanks everyone, I appreciate any input.

1- I remember reading a thread that Holland just passed a law that made poker income tax free. "the Dutch run hot at life" was the title of the thread, I think.

2- If I'm right about 1 than there are no Dutch taxes to worry about. I think the U.S. still expects a cut. Not positive on that though.

3- Never played in that series before, but I have played in a regular touney at Holland Casino in Amsterdam. I forget how many players the tourney was capped at, but it was less than 400. When I asked the same question at the casino about the other tourney I was told that they are normally full a few days before the tourney. I would strongly suggest registering a.s.a.p if you want to make sure you get a seat.

I strongly suggest going to Amsterdam, just to go to Amsterdam. Greatest city on the planet and Dutch people are awesome. Just don't do what I did and spend your life savings there. Although it was worth every penny.
