Been playing at a guys house and i caught them cheating the last two times by switching out decks and so i was looking for a new place to play and thought why dont i start a place to play. Got lots of people that would come just one problem. I thought it was illegal in tennessee to play for money but i called police dept and highway patrol and was told as long as the house doesn't benefit by charging entry or by charging hourly for a seat. They said charging rake is legal. I am wanting to make sure before i decide to do this or not. Also it'll be hosted in my house if that makes a difference


Cliff notes: Can we play cash games in tennessee and can we charge rake if we do play? Also legal to advertise the games in the newspaper and such?

I would talk to someone in a prosecutorial position (state attorney general or district attorney) rather than someone in an enforcement position like police or highway patrol.
