I looked through the sticky and did a few searches to see if there were any threads where people can post responses to the letters they've sent, but couldn't find any. If there is a better place to put this, feel free to move it. Not sure if it even matters, but I received this today. I think it's the first response I've gotten:

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting me with respect to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. I appreciate your concern on this issue and your views are important to me.

As a Member of Congress, it is essential that I know my constituents' thoughts and concerns so I can best represent their interests in Congress. I will continue to watch the issue of Internet poker prohibition closely and will keep your views in mind as it comes before the Congress.

Once again, thank you for expressing your concern on this very important issue. I appreciate hearing from you. For more information on my views on other issues, please feel free to visit my website at http://connolly.house.gov.

Sincerely,

Gerald E. Connolly
Member of Congress
11th District, Virginia

His letter basically told you that he isn't going to do a damn thing. It's just worded in political language.

looks like a standard "catchall" response where they just drop UIGEA or whatever issue you wrote about into the first sentence. This is done in busier offices for issues that aren't incredibly popular (offices will take top 20, 25, 30, or whatever number they decide) and wrtie form responses to all letters on those issues. All other letters get a standardized response such as this.

Essentially not enough letters have been written to him for him to take note.
