Did you see where Poker Voters of America issued a press release stating they are working with the California card rooms to amend Rod Wright's legislation? That's a significant development.

If this continues to gain momentum and Commerce has to 180 and find an accord the PPA and player interests in general, we need to follow up elsewhere.
Not everyone lives in California or nearby. So my question is what can we do to let a few other B&M rooms feel like they need to heed what players actually want and serve that for profit instead of current monopolistic greed?

My gut says to go to a big room in Vegas and to go after the Hard Rock in Florida. Have a PPA night where 2p2 players show up, visibly wearing some gear, talk to dealers, shifts, and other players about the PPA. Meet at least a few others beforehand and come as a large group or in a bunch of small groups.
Its not a boycott or demonstration, just a presence. We're here, we play online too, get used to it. You said they wouldn't let you hand out bumper stickers, but what if 50 people show up in one night , each one with 10 bumper stickers, key chains, or membership cards? Dare them to throw everyone out. Tunica, AC, Foxwoods, or another strip could follow after if it works. Its the next logical step in the evolution of the PPA as a player to be recknoned with in the gambling business, and maybe even as a political entity.

Before a boycott is considered we should try to find out what percentages of Commerce players plays are on line poker regulars. It does not have to be high. It only to be high in one or more areas, young players, low BI NL players, Saturday at the Commerce players etc. If it is than we can made Commerces and the rest take notice.

Our goal isn't one of vengeance. Rather, this was a specific action taken in response to Commerce's Congressional testimony. IMO, it has been quite effective. It played perfectly to our strengths. In fact, the thorough planning ensured that we could only gain from this while Commerce could only lose. The only thing to be seen was the degree.

I have put together the third barrel. It also plays perfectly to our strengths. However, if we were to go all-in now, we'd have no shells to fire in the future. So, I believe we want to keep everything where it stands now, with upcoming actions ready to go in case we need to push back against future actions.

Lets not boycott..............just show up visibly as PPA. Monthly, weekly, whatever can be done. Who cares if you don't get the same number of fish call downs for a few months IF you can parlay this into better poker in the future?
Wear your ****, speak positively and knowledgeably about joining the PPA and advocating for poker rights. Then, gradually, push the presence. Pick a popular monthly or weekly tournament. Announce you are setting aside a percentage of any win as a PPA donation. Hell, put a bounty on yourself for any non PPA member who knocks you out gets a membership on you. There should be a ton of other PPA players in with you doing the same thing. AND TOKE and talk to the dealers. I swear dealers are the natural allies for players in this. They know how much poker has grown from the internet more than bosses, and it puts money IN their pockets. 10% to the dealers, 10% to the PPA. What are they going to do, throw everyone out?
