Assume that you buy in for the minimum ($300). The max is $1500.

Serious answers only pls 🤔

Question: Is there a betting round after the deal, or do you go straight to the flop?

Either way, it is hard to imagine a higher variance way to play poker, unless you want to make it 5 or 6 card Omaha as well, why not, what the heck.

It seems to me that if you are buying in $300 to a $1500 game it is pretty easy to get run over and plow through 100 buy-ins even in a lower variance variety of poker like NLH. In $1500 Bomb-pot PLO there is probably no limit to how much you could lose.

Bomb-pot PLO could get real ugly real fast for a guy on a short stack. Chips are power and if your buy-in is 20% of the limit you don't have any.

Plus everybody hates that guy who buys in for short stacks and then plays like a nit hoping to hit a big hand. 9 times out of 10 they hit and run. They are like Vampires sucking the fun out of the game. Don't be that guy.

Oh my bad. Should've been more specific.

It's double board (!) and you go straight to the 2 flops.

you should have $30,000 minimum and you should be winning.
but more importantly you should buy in for $1500. otherwise you will get steamrolled.

You shouldn't spend more than 3% of your bankroll on any one bet, so you should have at least 34 buyins.
