In light of all of the recent events regarding DFS and the fight for the major companies to argue the legality of DFS as a skill game under UIGEA, shouldn't the poker community try to join forces with them? There is clearly a ton of money in both industries, and both games are clearly games of skill and luck. If DFS has the chance of being the exception to the rule on the basis of being a skill game, shouldn't we try to join efforts with them in their fight on the basis of being a skill game (and trying to push that that is something very different than other casino games)? Even if we don't "sneak in" now with regulated DFS, it couldn't hurt to have them possibly repay the favor later down the road, right?

is online poker still a thing? I thought everyone switched to DFS. Even the poker media spends its time on the subject of DFS now.

I don't think we are a force to join with any other. They don't need us, we haven't shown ourselves to be a committed group willing to take on the challenges. Rather, we are a few who have spoken up, for all the good that has done.

Online poker is no longer the front line battle, even the poker sites are less interested in poker than they other other gaming ventures that are more profitable.

I honestly think the era of fighting for online poker has now passed, and if we get regulated online poker in the future, it will just be a small part of an overall bundle of online gaming.

As far as I can see, the poker sites don't even care much about online poker anymore. They have switched their focus to full casino, and in the case of Pokerstars, even DFS.

Besides which, poker is on the books as a form of gambling under the law in many states. If anything, the DFS site owners will want to distance DFS from poker (in the U.S.; the UK is a different matter entirely).
