According to an email I got from the AGA, their policy goals include:
"Prevent Harmful Federal Policy: States are effective gaming regulators. There is no need for federal intervention, especially in shaping a business relationship between sporting bodies and gaming companies."
So, if anyone thought there might be a resurrection of a federal poker effort, .... not on the AGA's watch.

I might be wrong, but, among states who've legalized online poker, their legislation has language reserving the possibility to share pools with other states who also have legalized.
I'm guessing the only time we'll effectively have "federal legislation" will be when all 50 states legalize and agree to share pools...
Maybe federal efforts are not completely dead. Anyone want to pitch a Trump Freedom Act? Any bill Trump'll sign willingly but we sneak in language under the dead of night in a way no one can debate about it and it slides right in with the rest of the legislation Trump is 100% signing.
