Ryan,

Did you change something? I see that threads with unread posts are now showing up in bold. Very nice. TYVM.

I really hate the new titles. Adept? wtf

Blame me for adept. I will still fight anyone to the death who tells me I can't use it that way, though.

The couple other new ones came from the suggestions thread I posted about this a while back.

Here's a feature I just found: In each forum on the right side of the topic the number of posts is linked to who posted. Click it for an interesting way to view things.

I also hate the limited number of threads viewable per page. I loved the fact that if I signed on once a day, every updated thread would be on the first page. The new way sucks.

I was used to 100 threads by page and 99 posts per thread...this new layout is hurting my wrist with all the clicking...

"Adept" is perfect. I will take it as a permanent title if offered.

As for the rest of you: hie thee to yon dictionary!!

(I do think it's kinda weeny that y'all disabled the font size function.)

LOVE IT!

There's no way to distinguish a post with just one new post or a totally new post, right? Like in the old days where it would just say 20 (1) so you knew you've already seen the top 19?

Is there any way to show more threads? On the old forums I had both threads and forums per page set to max, so much more convenient that way...

Can I change the date format to dd/mm/yyyy? I can’t seem to find it under “Edit Options/Date & Time Options”. Sorry to be so English about this.

I also agree. Having to work out the date because of the American format is annoying to say the least.

Unfortunately, the date format is global.

It is possible to use a less ambiguous format like 3 December 2007, so that's something that might change to make the site more usable.

[SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]You change the side of the road to drive on. [/FONT][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]You mis-spell the Queen’s English (e.g. color is really spelled colour).[/FONT][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]You pronounce words incorrectly.[/FONT][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]Your apples are always bigger.[/FONT][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]You change the date format and then don’t give us a way to change it back to the correct format. It is just not on. What’s next? World domination? No you have already done that.[/FONT][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]I guess I will have to live with it. Love you really.[/FONT][/SIZE]

And WTF is happening when I cut and paste from word???????

Slightly different BBCode for colors. Instead of a colon before the dolor value, use an equal sign.

More importantly, though, there is now an integrated hand converter, which formats specifically for the forum and drops it into your post form.

StevieG,

I'll direct my questions to you as I don't really want to start another thread with all my gripes but the usability of the forum and cleanliness has gone down imo..

Basically, I have very little idea over what can be changed on the vBulletin system by 2+2 but these are the things that stood out to me :

The Title of thread and Creator are too close together. Its hard to distinguish who has created the thread and the screen looks quite cluttered with info in the boxes. Is it not possible to at least create an extra column or 2 ?

Also, as the default is 30 threads, it means that on high usage forums such as BBV4L, BBV, OOT and SSNL/MSNL (Forums I read/post in), that a lot of stuff disappears quite quickly. Can this be increased to 50 minimum ?

The layout may have better functions that are better for the user, however, the lack of show all is highly frustrating. Also the clicking of posts and the lack of it going to the last post you read etc is going to put me on severe tilt I think. I'm about to leave work but have more points that i will raise when I get in... Overall I think the new software has many plusses, but the ease of use with the UBB software was a lot better !

Vava

I know most people agree with you, but if you set prefs to 90 posts/page, how it can it be THAT big a deal? How often are people reading more than 90 posts at a time? There were times I used view all, but losing it won't make or break the forums for me.

You know you can click the down arrow, right? It might take a day to get used to, but once you do it's not like it takes any more time than clicking the thread title.

blame it on FlopTurnRiver.com not two plus two. Their converter is broken due to the software change.

Additionally we now have the very cool in-line hand converter so third party converters usually wont be necessary anymore.

He's talking about the threads per page in the forums - not the posts per thread. The latter is user customizable. The former is not.

You may be right. I thought he addressed both issues separately, and I was only commenting on the one.

not having a button at the end of the thread that takes you back to the forum the thread is in is extremely annoying

everything else seems great though
