and before anyone says we don't need an entire forum for this, I think the forum itself can be used to discuss which threads are eligible. I volunteer to be a supermod so I can mod this new forum as part of my multitasking.

Could be doable. A forum with nothing but links ... I dunno, trying to picture it and how it would be done.

A forum with nothing but links as just a general concept sounds not that great really, but I think it all depends on how it's done.

As someone who is usually looking for a reason to support any new forum idea, this one just doesn't make any sense to me.

The mods of each forum should be linking to top threads in their stickies (and these are not always updated as frequently as they could be)

fwiw, even threads of top links have been underutilized. This thread for example

Also, one man's garbage is another man's gold... an issue that seems to be at the forefront of people's minds at the moment... why create another forum where that will certainly be an issue.

Finally. as you know, the best threads are the multi-page deleted ones

See the problem with each forum doing this independently is that only some of the forums will do it, and some will do a better job than others. WE SHOULD MAKE THIS A TEAM EFFORT! HURRAH HURRAH HURRAHQ!!

Here's more to the vision. There would be no posting in this forum. It would just be a forum with the name: "The best of TwoPlusTwo.com"

There would be one locked sticky explaining the function. There wouldn't be many threads. Each thread would represent a category. Within each category would be a list of links and maybe a brief description.

While user input would be welcome, only mods would have the ability to post a link. The mods would not be restricted to their own forums either.

Let's say one of the categories is Two Plus Two forum management.

I would post something like this:

In this thread the users hassle Mat: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/55.../#post14718609

It sounds like you've put quite a bit of thought into this Mat. I say go for it and see how things go. If it doesn't work out you can just delete it.

It could end up being pretty awesome, and a good resource. It is hard to find the excellent threads in some forums.
