First, let me say that I have been using the iphone app, and it is pretty nice.

I know that the spoilers are known to cause some troubles, so this might not be a new bug report, but I wanted to note that this post which has some "spoiler within spoiler" is not properly rendered in the iphone app (text is spoiled), in case this specific type of behavior has not been documented.

this is a total grunch and for that I apologize in advance:

I have both the iphone (itouch) and Android apps - do they handle ignored users?

I ask b/c I would need to migrate from that certain old Firefox addon that has boosted my enjoyment of the forums immeasurably to the plain ol' forum ignore list.

I'm glad that a search for "two plus two" in the app store brings up the app in the appropriate place...

Since the 2p2 app is just a standalone Tapatalk for only 2p2 with ads, would it be possible to make it so one can add 2p2 to tapatalk too?

they had to change certain things, such as quoting and possibly spoilers to make it work

so I would venture

no

Can someone change the name of this thread? It took some digging to find out the discussion is not about tapatalk per se, but a special 2+2 app.

If I see a 2+2 link in the android app, i.e. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...7/index21.html it will open in a browser window, is it possible to just open it in the same app?

thank you!

I've been using the 2+2 ipad version and experience consistent crashes, about every 5 minutes. The crash does not seem to be associated with any event, it happens without any touchscreen input. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this a known issue? I'm wondering if the problem is just on my end b/c I've seen no mention of it.

I find this with many different apps (2p2 and camera for example) but if I haven't rebooted my phone in several weeks, the apps grow slower and sometimes exit within seconds of opening. hope that improves people's experience.

You can also try killing off other running apps - I sometimes get crashes of the 2+2 app, but usually after killing off other apps that I am not actively using, the 2+2 app starts and runs correctly.

You should be able to find this via Google.

You double-press the home button to bring up the bar at the bottom showing running apps. Then you can touch and hold on one of those icons, like you want to move it to a new location. Then a little red minus sign should appear on each of the listed icons. Touch that minus sign and it will close the app so it is no longer running in the phone's memory.

This is all correct in practice. Under iOS 4 (which almost all iPhone users are probably using), multitasking is automatic. Every application you've loaded since your last reboot gets loaded into memory, and they don't get completely unloaded so memory gets shorter and shorter over time.

The multitasking bar — the double-tap of the round home button on the bottom part of the front face — is the normal way for a normal user to solve this problem (though of course an occasional reboot works also). There is another set of keystrokes to kill a process you're currently in, but really no reason to use it with the multitasking bar available.

One of the best reason to jailbreak your phone is to install SBSettings, a convenient dropdown menu that gives you a one-button option to kill all background processes at once.

Anyone who sees the app quit unexpectedly, either while working or at the loading screen (it will display the loading screen for a few seconds, then quit) should try one of these methods first. Memory also may be the culprit if you cannot load or refresh a page but know you have a good network signal.

Not sure if it's been mentioned so far, but I have a consistent bug on my HTC Thunderbolt. If I leave the app while it's viewing a thread, and then come back to it later, about 75% of the time it will get stuck trying to re-load that thread. I then hit back and the app crashes. After re-starting it works fine.

If I leave the app while viewing a forum, then it doesn't do this (at least, I don't think it does).

I'm still thrilled to have an app that lets me use 90% of forum functionality without browsing.

Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
