One problem I have with like buttons is the lack of granularity.

Using the Bridgewater Dot App or something similar would be interesting. It lets an audience give numerical and textual feedback in real-time, and collates the data for all to see, so we’d have snapshots of how participants perceive posts, posters, issues, theories, etc. Posters could receive data and feedback in close to real-time about how their audience is responding, including lurkers.

The Vanilla forum might make this possible. Here’s the developers reference for the API (I've only taken a quick look so far): https://success.vanillaforums.com/kb...ence-endpoints. If enough software guys here are interested we could start an open source project to make this happen.

Can anyone point to a forum that is built on Vanilla that is good (ie. the software/appearance, not the content) and popular?

I wonder if there was ever discussion of moving away from forums and instead utilizing good posters as content creators and reducing everyone else (like myself) to comment-only status.

...because the current play is pure hospice.

You gotta rally back dude.

None of whom should be too smart or poker pros as these will experience a low ceiling of sorts.

You* need to highlight the most degenerate, obscure oddballs you can.

Put chips in the middle man. Sell action if needed (Can I have some?).

*I don’t know who I’m talking to, Mason I guess, or my main man make-believe Mat.

No, I would make the comment font size so small that you couldn’t see it.

I’m basically saying ban everyone and shoot for a wider audience and offer different products. Why isn’t there a shirt for sale that says “About $3.50” on it for example. Why don’t the casino groups advertise?

Definitely money on the table.

You have to put some people out there. Faces.

There should have been a gif headlining the site with Mason’s saucy eye movement for some time now. No offense at all Mason but your eye movement is Comedy Gold! Check out Mason in an interview and watch those swirly balls...man has no regard for life, lol, I love it!

It would be better to move away from the “meat” of the argument or the “correctness” of things and into a more player-centered entertainment realm. <-That might not be a sentence.

Poker needs to move away from what’s right and move towards what’s funny.

Here's a funny story:

The move to Vanilla has been cancelled. There will be updates about what happens next. But I don't think there will be any news about change in the near future. If changes are needed we will try to stay with some version of vbulletin.

It's not funny like "haha, that's a funny joke," it's more like wry observational humor.

Teehee.

Sounds like Vanilla lied to you guys. You don’t owe them anything they wasted your time and money. Lay it out.

I wish you guys could migrate to discourse. I am a big fan.

That was a great April Fool's joke, you really got us that time! Congrats on not losing most of your poster/readers by moving.
