Anyone else experiencing this? Seems to hang for ages before loading pages.

Hmmm, I haven't noticed this, but I have certainly noticed that people seem to be starting threads without looking if the exact same thread is allready on the front page of the forum they're posting in. Ryan, can we fix this?

That's because the search engine doesn't work for posts after the upgrade.

Well it isn't slow for me now, but it was about 2 hours ago. But I think there was something else going on because other websites were taking forever to load as well. In fact I was in a web meeting and most of the people, scattered around the country, were dropped at about the same time. Also I could not reach amazon.com and other sites that are usually reliable (yeah, I know about the amazon outage the other day.)

So while the forum many not be perfectly fast (working on improvements) this may not have been a symptom of the problem.

yeah, ive been having tons of lag issues for almost a week. several times the forums even timed out and i couldnt access it at all for half an hour or so.

every time its happened to me, all other sites on the web were loading extremely quickly as normal.

that's not true; I've used both simultaneously during the past couple weeks and the only difference is that IE will display the top of the page while waiting on the rest of the stuff while FF will not display anything until it receives the rest of the page content

hasn't only been here , while this place is far from perfect and there I/O run something close to that of an old Ford Pinto the lag is coming from else where.
There have been wide spread attacks across Australia and particularly NZ. While it shouldn't really effect us here int he US that much if some wacked out hop for say a banner ad goes there well...

I've been getting reports of this from time to time, but whenever I go to check it's actually performing quite reasonably. (May be because of the lag between being notified and my being able to check.) When you make a post here about the forum being slow please give me an idea of when it is slow. For instance it is not slow now, but it will be in about 2 hours when the backups begin.
