That said - who is charge of modding B&M while he's gone? Whoever it is - please, please, please do what's needed there!

The tipping threads should all be locked. Actually, they should have been locked some time ago.

Quoting from the guidelines:

"7. Opinions on the validity of tipping (aka tipping politics) are forbidden. If you don't like the culture of tipping or if you think you shouldn't ever have to tip then it's best to keep it to yourself; don't post your opinion in B&M."

The threads that all ask some version of "I was an online player, how do I play live?" need to be merged. There's really no need for a dozen or so all asking essentially the same question.

The threads that all are asking/suggesting that live poker be made to play more like online either need to be merged or, even better, locked.

Etc.

I'll be happy to help, but need the permission/authority. As well as a tutorial on how to do it.

I'd say it's going along fairly well. Considering what some other subforums have gone through, B&M is holding its own quite well, and conversations are fun again.

I agree that tipping threads should all be consolidated to an infinitely long dump thread, but other than that it's been pretty good in there. It certainly feels more like a B&M cardroom than it did a month ago, with the personalities and conversations and topics.

Unless they're related to room reps, I let most of the post reports go, as I know Rapini's all over them. Since he isn't around these days, I'll try to be a little more attentive to them, and I'll pop in over the weekend and do a little cleanup of the obvious stuff. But I sort of think it's an interesting experiment as well, where we get to see how a little less modding works out.

There are several other mods of that forum who I'm sure will do just fine in his absence.

For the same reason you don't vomit on your living room carpet.

I mean, we'll let you do it and everything, and it's not the end of the world when it happens, but it's not usually worth the hassle.

(Note: I probably wouldn't do anything in B&M anyway. Tho' I'd burn Politics to the ground, just on general principle.)

Maybe this is a good time to consider sub-forums. Seriously. One for general chat. One for the AC thread. One for the strategy NL discussions (although since by now all the live strategy people know where to find it, maybe it's best left where it is.) Put all the B&M stuff in one easy to find place.

Hopefully it is something for the mods and Admins (whoever makes these decisions) to discuss and consider.

I think B&M is going fairly well for the most part, although merging of threads defffffff needs to happen asap.

Nothing against either of those worthies, but I for one would like to see Rapini keep the job.
