This wasn't me. It happened last night and a deal was made HU. Note the payouts listed under "after deal" and prepare to be amazed...

This is nowhere close to the worst deal ever.

I once witnessed a deal. There were 3 players left, A B and C. A has B+C well covered, B asks C to 'chop' 2nd and 3rd place money, and give A first place money. C agrees. As does A obvs.

It seems to me as they continue playing and sweeten the first place money with 32 bucks. But I guess you are saying one of them actually settled for less than second place money.

Omg....what stake/tourny/site was this on? It must've been a decent level if you were railing it. This thread is tilting and hilarious all at the same time.

This was a live tourney. I had been sweating a buddy that finished either 4th or 5th. I think it was a $50 buy-in or something.

OK I'm dumb. Explain to me how this is worse than a player getting MORE than the posted 1st place money.

how is this a worse deal than OPs ?
they are getting more than the 3rd place money they are guaranteed now ... in OPs he is taking less money than what he is gauranteed to get no matter what

Pretty sure this deal was something like X amount gtd to each and then $100 or $200 to play for.

That would be my guess.

So second and third place money gets chopped between the 3 of them?

Thank you.

He is GUARANTEED to get X no matter what he does (short of accepting a deal like he did, lol) and he willingly accepts a deal where he gets less than X.

Any chop 3 handed is completely different, but I think it's impossible to argue against the stupidity of the deal in the OP here.

I kind of assumed FTP's deal making software wouldn't even have this possibility built in. So genius.

Wait, is this deal is made, end of tournament? Or did these two just feel like gambling more?

someone posted a screenshot some months ago where the winner in a 1table SnG got like 90% of the prize money. someone should find that, that was by far the worst deal I ever heard of. OPs is nothing compared to that.

You should be able to make deals for more than the tournament prize pool for first.
