Playing 2-5 at a legit casino when a short, jacked gentleman sits down on my direct left. He's a reg who frequents this exact casino very often. We start talking a little along with the whole table and he mentions that he lives across the street from the casino and how he owns a landscaping business where he makes decent money. He and I exchange some banter about what its like to own your own business and he beats me in a pot with 92cc a few seconds later. Then two players at the opposite end of the table ask him if he will answer their question to settle a bet. They want to know if he's ever made at least $1 from competitive organized fighting in his life. He acknowledges he has and that he has competed in MMA bouts before. He then supplies us with his full name to look him up and shares info that he's fought at the said casino were at 3 times.

I then leave for 10 minutes to get some soup and when i come back all of my green chips are missing off the table. I start asking the table what happened and after the floor calls surveillance and I head back to the table like a ton of bricks it hit me who took them. The guy on my left was no longer there and sure enough the camera confirmed it.

So the real question is how badly does your brain not have to work to give your full name and details of where you live to the table and then attempt to steal chips from another player like I'm not going to notice. I guess you must need $325 reallll bad to pull of that kind of scam and just get yourself flagged at the casino 20 seconds from your house. Worlds worst criminal imo.

Confirmed him. Found his Facebook and everything with stuff dated back to 2012. Too elaborate of a scam for the amount of money he stole. Guess jbl he chose that night to end his poker career.

Your terminology in the OP is a little incorrect. He is a manlet not a short jacked guy. He does not own a landscaping business. A couple of his buddies and him got a 1992 silverado, a lawnmower and a watering can.

I was notified today that the villain claims he will return my money this weekend. Weird situation. Just happy to get my money back and hopefully there's no lingering effects of this whole thing. I didn't think this guy was a criminal either. Maybe he just spazzed out. One to many concussions in the Octogon that he didn't even realize what he was doing might have consequences. Not going to celebrate yet tho as he hasn't actually brought it it to the casino yet.

Yeah he should be banned from at least that casino, if not more imo. It's so ridiculous. As I assume he didn't like own up to having the money and voluntarily say that he would give it back, but rather that he was contacted by you/the casino/the police, and told to.
And I would still consider pressing charges if he doesn't.

This is so dumb. I received a call last Friday from the officer in charge of the case. He said the guy said he would bring back the money Monday and i would be able to pick it up then. I call Monday and he says assuredly that Tuesday (today) he would bring it in. I wake up to a voicemail this morning that now Thursday is the day that it will be brought to the casino. Now I'm getting slowrolled by the police. What a miserable experience. If it's not there Thursday I want action taken.
