i always wondered but never asked.. what happens when u can't pay for the cab? I mean its not like he can do anything can he? you've reached your destination and u got no $... so only option is he calls cops lol or beats u up.

i mean this rarely works. most of the time your destination is a place you are staying and he calls the cops.

You plan to get out somewhere near a pathway that he cant drive down that leads through a park or something where you can do a runner, obviously close to your destination but not right out the front.

Or you can do what one my friends did and jump out a moving cab doing 60kph. Got away without paying but did break his arm.

I did this before, but since i live in a gated community, i had to give gate guard my name. cab dropped me off at wrong addy that i gave him so i bucked and ran to my condo, cab called cop. cop got my addy from gate gaurd... etc.

For longer cab rides (30+ dollars) you can negotiate the price of the trip beforehand.

Here's a helpful hint OP - if you've lost the functioning of your legs, or if you are simply too fat and out of shape then DON'T TAKE A CAB.

I don't live in TO, but when i go there to visit friends - the cab drivers actually chase u on foot. U better be able to run for more then 2 minutes of a full out sprint.

My friend ran away once.

Him and another friend was very drunk, had no money, so friend #1 bails leaving friend #2 in the cab with very angry cabbie. Friend #2 is cool and laidback and has no intention of running away. So the cabbie pulls out a club from under his seat and chases after friend #1. He finds him, and smashes his face in.

Naturally this ends up in court. Now my friends, being very drunk, dont remember much from the night. Especially the bit where friend #1 asks the cabbie to stop at a gas station, and proceeds to buy several porn mags (with money that easily could have paid the fare).

So imagine their surprise and embarassment when the cabbie's lawyer produces a surveillance tape from the gas station showing said purchase in court.

I'd rather my mum found my porn.

Still won the case though.

I drove a cab for about a year when I was 17.

Depending on what you look and smell like the cab driver is more scared of you than you are of him. What would probably happen is he would radio dispatch, and they would call the cops.

I only had someone not pay once, and i just wrote it off as a bad beat. I felt pretty bad for anyone who relied of a cab for transportation as it is obscenely expensive. Also there were more people than I could count that had less money than the actual fair. In those cases I would just write the ride down as costing slighly less than what they had.

So if a ride cost 10
and they had 8
I'd write down as 7

I don't want to be the only one getting ****ed in the exchange.

As cabbie you generaly get to keep between 25/35% of the fair + any tips you might recieve.

Done this a few times best time to do it is when you have a fat taxi (cab) driver cause they cant be arsed chasing you

WTF is the matter with you people. If you can't afford a cab don't take one, take a bus or some sh*t. If you can't afford one because you're out drinking then maybe don't go out drinking. Same as people who go out to a bar or restaurant and can't afford to tip. If you can't afford to leave a tip then you can't afford to go out. Pick up a bottle of booze or go shopping and eat/get drunk at home.

when you are almost there, take a dump in the cab. he'll probably throw you out and you will win a free cab ride.
