I was in a 6 max 1/2 with about $180 with pocket 8's. I raise to 9 and the SB RR to 21 so i make the call. The board is 2-10-4 and he bets 40...I think about it then shove all in and he calls. The turn and river were a K then a 7 and he shows down AK.

I have tried to find any justifcation with this play, I think it was a very, very poor call. the only hand he can beat(and not totally dominate) is a draw, but to put in 130 more dollars with A high just because you flopped air is no reason.

Has this happened to you? What do you think?

you played the hand badly. first was calling the pre flop reraise with 88 out of position ussually when one of the blinds reraise you they have a strong hand. and you didnt need to shove on the flop either. could have just called the 40 but i probobly would have folded there.
