I have had a long history of playing SnGs - 6 max and HU hypers, after a huge sample I decided that the variance is unbeatable and switched to cash...
Cash didn't go well, I had 4 bucks left on my account and fired up 2 $1 Spin & Gos - in 4 days I was at $425...Played $1 then switched to $3. Put a lot of volume, played around 100-150 a day.
I do appreciate that first 40-60 bucks were running good streak, but I don't think you could be running that good to make another 300, so it felt like I had adjusted my ranges just the right way to win.
The following week was $100 ups and downs, which is absolutely normal due to the fact that, yes AKs do sometimes lose to a random 49o. Mark the fish and open another table, no bigs.
But the last week has been a nightmare I am down to $80...I actually cannot win.
I reduced the number of tables from 3-4 to 2.
But according to my tracking software pocket pairs 55-JJ have lost me more chips than won...which obviously should be the other way around.
Was that actual blind luck and those are unbeatable in the long run?
We Americans got our play chip privleges back on Poker Stars (but not real money of course, after all, this IS the "Land of the Free" LOL) and I've been playing the Spin N Gos, they are just horrid.
Why would anyone play these things? 3 players pay 100 chips each and play for a prize pool of 200 chips? How big of a moron do you have to be to put up with THAT, and for how long?
Let's take gambling (poker) and add even ANOTHER layer of gambling (the prize pool lottery) to it - BRILLIANT! Not.
I agree with several of the posters itt. Poker is unbeatable in all of the games. The only winner is the house. Just like in all forms of gambling. They eventually rake all of your money away and you wonder where it went. Enjoy straining your money down the pipes.
