Your situation is not as bad as you think. You are not homeless. You have your parent's place to stay and food on the table.

You have to ask yourself what you want to do in life. You made a mistake but i don't see it as cardinal. You are veeery young and have time.

My advice would be to try and go back to university. Its always better to finish uni and get a decent job with decent pay. Then you can play amateur poker knowing that you will get a paycheck from work if you lose at poker. Now you are a nobody in life and can not expect to get paid well.


If you don't want to do that and think you can make it at poker and need another chance:

I don't think you are in position to look for decent job.

Find any job and start saving money and don't play any poker for a year.

Payoff all debts in the first year and save for a small roll of like 3k and start playing 25c-50c online every day or 50c-1 live 4 times a week. You keep grinding hard and working your crap job at the same time. When you get to 20k you can quit job and move out , rent apartment and continue grind. Good times....but know that if you go broke again as time passes, it will be late for uni so its back to crap job for you.

Whatever you decide to do, you have to make a plan and stick to it!!

I can't believe that nobody has suggested the obvious - ask your parents for help. They already give you free rent and food so they obviously care. Sit down with them and tell them that you screwed up, that you have a gambling problem, and that you want to go back to school. Dropping out of College does not mean that you cannot go back and I think your parents will not be too upset with you if you just admit your mistakes. I also suggest that you get into a gambling therapy group as well. By the way, winning $5000 a month in poker is -EV when compared to a top 20 college education.

Sounds like you made a big mistake. If you have 80 credits done and no debt from it, your parents were paying your way through college. I have no idea why you would ever pass up that free education with three semesters to go. Just pray that they will still help you, come clean about the debt, get back in school. Work at mcdonalds or a gas station until you can reenroll next fall. Seriously, I'm in school and in 10 times as much debt as you.

OP I would give up on poker for a while to spend time trying to find a job. Do you have a car? Try getting a delivery job, that will get some cash into your pocket quick. Sell plasma.
Or you could do what most degens do....try selling cars. If you are motivated enough they will hire you.

weekends the rooms are taxed so either play through from fri-sun or take a nap in the bus station
3 Talk to all the degens on the street in and around the hotel be friendly usually some business opps will come your way. Actively seek these out!
4 Play good run good
5 don't let anyone talk you into getting a job or going to school this is stupid talk and shouldn't be tolerated(avoid friends and family at all costs they'll try to deter you from reaching your destiny)
