I can see a reasonable position being that silent noise/friend can freeroll this bet from here out. they put up the $2500 to win $25,000. that fees decided to not be eligible to actually win by not escrowing is his problem.

note: I don't think this is the best answer, but everyone seems to be talking in terms of only "the bet is over" or "fees must escrow now" when in reality the spirit of the bet could continue risk free for SN.

Blah I wished I would have checked this thread before this crap happened. I heard a long time ago that Fees was a shady ****.

And can't believe that WCGrider was chosen as an escrow again. Can't remember exactly what happened but I know he dropped the ball in a previous prop. Will try and find link later. I am sure he is a great guy(+ sick poker player) but the guy is as lazy as they come when it comes to escrowing.

however, that would imply that he intentionally failed the 100nl prop bet? or maybe that 100nl is just that much tougher? as someone who grinds the 100nl fr games i know that they are just that nitty.

still, it was done pretty poorly then. he prob could have gotten like 10:1 on 15k on the 50nl prop bet and locked up $150k. of course we don't know how much side action is booked.

I'm going to bump my cliff notes for anyone that missed it and is interested.

My attempt at cliff notes for the past events:

- Fees bets $25k against Silent_0ne's (and his friend the_most10's) $2.5k that Silent_0ne can't win the 50nl UGL for December.
- Instead of using jalexand42 as an escrow, they use WCGrider. WCGrider was supposedly unaware that he was going to be an escrow until the money turned up in his account.
- It is found that fees (who is a $2kNL regular) has begun playing 50nl HU himself and is attempting to win the 50nl UGL badge for December.
- (Most posters get upset with fees actions, and Silent_0ne plays fees HU some).
- (Jalexand42 agrees that Silent_0ne and fees can play HU and have it not affect the bet or the UGL leaderboard standings, even though it would be against the original rules. Any winnings or losses affecting the leaderboard attained during their HU play will be nullified and not affect the bet. So in effect, they never played HU).
- Jalexand42 rules that fees attempt to win the 50nl UGL is against the rules and the spirit of the bet, and decides that fees position on the UGL leaderboard won't affect the bet. (Out of 7 reputable posters that jalexand42 talked to, 6 agreed that fees actions were breaking the rules, and 3 out of 6 wanted his 25k to be forfeited).
- Jalexand42 does not take a stance in whether fees $25k bet should be forfeited due to breaking the rules or not (possibly largely due to him not being the escrow and details regarding their bet not being completely clear).
- It is found that whilst Silent_0ne and the_most10 escrowed their money to WCGrider, fees has not escrowed any money.

Was there every any reason given why Fees and Silent did not escrow with Jalex ( who seems to have done a stirling job worth more than 1% IMO ).

It would seem that Fees made an error of judgement and that an honest input by him to explain his side of things might make things better for him. As it stands it looks like he tried to influence the outcome which may or may not have been ' unethical ' as for angle shoot i dont know. did he just think he had found a loophole in the laws or did he try and deliberately cheat ???

I am glad i read this thread very interesting more twists than a rollercoaster.

You may very well be legit, but it goes without saying that this is somewhat serious allegations and that it shouldn't be taken seriously without confirmation of your identity and story. It's typically not a good idea to trust someone who just registered an account and posts this. Then again, seems you can't trust people who has been around for a long time either, so.
