I have my Laptop (Dell Inspiron 9400) with an additional 22'' samsung plugged into the DVI port. I bought another 19'' samsung hoping to plug it into the VGA (analogue?) port to run two extra monitors but they won't work together apparently. The new 19'' works right now but it shuts off the 22'', I can't seem to get the two running together.

Anyone with multiple displays have any idea how to get it to work?

FWIW, pretty sure you need a desktop to do this.
Edit: but i have no idea what i'm talking about, just heard this.

Yeah, I have the exact same deal with a 22" hooked up to my laptop. I'm almost 100% positive that you cannot run two external monitors on a laptop. Maybe you can get something custom built, idk.

had a look through the forums and there is something called VTbook, search on google it sounds really good.

Can't do that on most (any?) laptops. The VGA and DVI ports are kinda tied together and the laptop panel is tied to the other side of your multi-mon options.

Best you can do for laptop multimon is laptop screen + ONE external monitor atached via either VGA or DVI.

why bother with this when it seems like a big load for a laptop to carry. isn't it easier to buy a desktop and get dual 20's?
