the new apple display is not very nice, it is very overated, and the resolution is worse then a mac 30'', i still vote the mac 30' or dell 30' over any other monitor

So, has Apple stopped manufacturing 30" displays?

If so, imo anyone shopping for a new 30-incher should grab either Dell U3011 or HP ZR30W, both r excellent displays.

But if money's not an issue at all, Eizo's are prolly best.

HP ZR30w is easily the best 30" I've tried.

^if youre twotabling from your sofa id agree.

the daniel negreanu style! according to twitter he once went to the store and brought $100k with him, and appearantly because of some moronic salesperson that was probably slightly ******ed he ended up with a 32 or 40" LCD-TV for like $499 or something when he was going for a supersick high-end computermonitor(meaning, salesperson coulda easily sold him a dell 30" or even an superexpensive eizo) but no.

he ended up with a even by tv-standards with ****ty piece of crap within a crap within a crap. i felt bad for D.N. when i saw the picture he put up on twitter, he was happy about his purchase, but how can he know? Not everyone is hardware geeks.

Im sure he is rocking 2x30" dells now or something, i mean, that crap within a crap within a crap cant have gone on for long time after that twitterpic update, someone must've pointed him to the right direction.

I find outputs much more useful when connecting monitors to a computer...

+1 to the bolded part

i have a 27" cinema display hooked up to my macbook, and i love it. the reason i chose this over a other 30" is because it has a webacm, speakers and extra USB ports. so if you have other mac hardware, it's really convenient.
but i have to say that i did not try any other 30" screens, so i really don't know how well they would compare.

I recently got a Dell U3011 and i basically use it as if it were 4 screens.
I use Aquasnap, so i can snap windows to a corner and they adjust to 1280x800 (one quarter of the screen).
I'm not quite sure if i would have a lot of use for 2 20s on the side or a second 30(which was my original plan).

That is when i use it for work, when playing poker i dont mass multi-table and dont intend to, so i dont really need more screens for that anyway.

To be honest i feel like the viewing angle already is very wide on one 30, i suspect i might be uncomfortable working on two.

Incidentally, i find it quite amusing when people who come over and need to look something up online always maximize the browser window - who wants to read text in a 2560 width?

dual 30 is really awesome, you can check out my photo just less than 100 posts ago. When I play poker, I'd just put like 6-9 tables on one monitor and everything else on the other (email/IM/HM/calculator/porn..you name it).

Does anyone here use Full HD 1080p projector to play poker? Should be really damn cool too, or I could be wrong. I was just having this thought the other day..

Not much of a reason imo.
There's zero displays (TV or monitor) in whole wide world that has quality in-built speakers.
Ur much better off bying 'em separately.

Being able to connect everything via single cable (Thunderbolt) sounds convenient, though.

I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one pic itt where someone was playing poker on a projector screen. No first-hand experience but I could imagine it being bitch on the eyes for some reason.

not much a reason for you maybe, but it fit's my needs perfectly. also less cables, less space on the desk and a cleaner look!

Sure, some good points and each to their own ofc.
I just tend to look at everything from performance point of view first.
