so sick, do you think its possible to start at step 1 and win a seat? what bankroll would you expect someone to have, as long as they are decent at sng's and realize icm

i started with 20 step 1 buy ins and now have:

3 level 2's
1 level 3
2 level 4's

i think i wanna wait till sat and sun to play the level 4's for my best shot of moving on

Doubt the skill level is going to take such a drastic drop, but I suggest having more Step 4's before actually playing them.

I want to mention that OP, in addition to being very good at winning these seats, has been a class act to me, making time to talk with a lower stakes player and give advice on these tournaments. With his help, a friend made it to Step 6 last night under my guidance (starting at Step 1) and went all the way to heads up (lost with AQ all-in against A2 to take down second - $11k bad beat).

It doesn't matter for me, but it matters for someone who usually plays 5$ sngs...

It's the psychological factor involved in high risk/high reward situations that dictates this advice. Starting from step 1, playing for a month, and taking a bad bubble beat in step 6 can actually be very psychologically damaging, and playing high risk games leads to overall decreased cognition...

It's just a system so when you lose a step that's financially expensive to you, the loss isn't, or doesn't seem to be that big.
