I've enjoyed reading these forums from time to time, but this is my first post.

This happened tonight at a Live $350 50k guar.

Blinds 75-150 and I have about 19k. Villian opens UTG + 2 (8 handed at this point) for 450 off about a 19k stack. He's mid 20s, quiet, intelligent looking and had been recently moved to the table. I played a couple times with him before but do not remember much except that he is not a fish.

Anyway, it folds around to my BB and I call with A8 clubs. I was pretty much ready to float any c-bet he put out there assuming I didn't flop much.

Flop comes 6c6d4d. He bets 500. I call. Turn 10d. He bets 1000 and I throw in a 5000 chip and say "thirty two thousand." Obviously, I meant 3200, and I was fully aware of what I had said. I immediately corrected myself but it was too late. The Villian disputed it and the dealer called for floor. It was ruled that I am all in.

From the moment the floor was called, my "strategy" was to sit completely still, not talk, and not dispute it. The second the ruling was made, I put all my chips in. I was wearing shades tonight so that was somewhat comforting in this spot, lol.

About 7 seconds later, he calls and I tell him he's ahead. He flips over the Kd7d. I say nice hand and act like it doesn't bother me even though I felt like jumping off a cliff. The chip counts are very close but I start walking away knowing that they'll call me over if I have something left. They didn't.

Any feed back on how I played the hand IF I had successfully raised to 3200?

Other than check folding the flop (which in my opinion is completely reasonable), what's the best aggressive line to take here? 3 bet pre? Call the turn and lead on river?

I can't say I've ever witnessed the same thing happen that I can remember.

The type of situation where someone says "32" meaning 32,000 but being held to 3200 happens all the time.

I deserved what happened to me, imo.

Make a decent OP and you'll get something funny/creative. Otherwise EAD.

I shipped it in on the turn for 6x pot with A high and no draw on accident and got called. I was drawing dead. If that's not a gold canvas for the needlers, I don't know what is.

Well I'm assuming this was at Turning Stone last night. I personally think that their tournament management is awful. You can ask the floor "how long is the next break?" They don't know.... Some get penalties for certain actions, while others don't. As far as your situation, your intent was clear. I cannot believe they made you put your entire stack in. 3200 should have been the bet IMO

In the moment I figured if I argued it, it would be obvious that I thought I had the worst hand. If I did choose to plead my case maybe they would have ruled different. From the floor person's or other player's perspective, I may have had the nut flush or better and was loving that my opponent was pondering a call.

I don't have a problem with the ruling as long as the ruling is the same for anyone else who makes a similar mistake.
