urgh. so i fancied playing some omaha. rather than studying the odds, i thought **** it and loaded up 10 tables of 2-4nl.

11k hands later, and i just kept getting sicko beats. 3-4 buyins due to bad play, rest just jokes.

Even by Omaha standards 10BI in 400 hands is pretty bad.

edit: also, in my last approx 60 all in hands, rather than winning $2k, i lost over $4k. 15 buyins in sucky all in luck. those were probs all today as well. urgh.

imo its impossible to tilt in omaha. your at worst 40% to win no matter how badly you play.

20BI is pretty standard.Keep 100BI roll for your main game, then just take degen shots from time to time.

yo you should consider taking steps to learn PLO rather than just jumping in. I can recommend some good videos for you if you'd like

And if you're too lazy to watch videos, at least open up propokertools' website and run some equities to get a feel for where things stand in some common situations

i felt like i deserved to run well, not sure why, just felt that life owed me a bit of an upswing. obv god decided to kick me in the balls instead.

yeah i should have learnt before jumping in, but hoped id be breakeven and would learn whislt playing. if i can be bothered i will learn the odds first, then watch some videos. i have the worst form of laziness, i make the effort to sign up and pay monthly, but not the effort to watch any videos. thouogh i may check out what vids you guys have, would be interesting to know how to play rather than forming my own unorthodox theories on how to play omaha.

Edit: if you are serious about learning though, start with the wazz vids on cardrunners. His first vid was the first omaha vid i could watch without wanting to burn out my eyes and do unspeakable things to small animals.

i just tried 9 tabling some .50-1 but didnt go to well, i think i am def a dog in this game. dont know if i can really be bothered to spend ages learning it given i cant get pokerhud to work so i dont know if there are a lot of fish about, plus isolating the fish seems a lot harder. at holdem if i found a fish sometimes i would just try to lead him away from the crowd, find a secluded alleyway, and rape him (in the poker sense). whereas at omaha its far more card dependent so you cant really exploit a big fish as easily. which means i have to dual more against other regs who are better than me. which isnt good.

i think i may chill out this week rather than playing poker. if not though, ill take up your suggestion phill of the wazz video plus the DC videos on omaha plus go on odds calculator to try and work out wtf i am supposed to be doing.

I would guess that your biggest leak right now is preflop. Tighten up. Play hands with four cards working together. Eg. Hands like QQ610 or AK78 ds are not as good as they appear.
