Isn't that easy? I think that you might have skipped some maths yourself sir.

how about you actually finish your equation by calculating x and then maybe you will realise its a ridiculous amount of time to play in one session.

The key is to have a steady winrate of about $3.5 a hand. Then you simply play a 1429 hand live session. Easy game.

If x is supposed to represent each half hour than the equation would be
500*(1.035^x) = 5000
NOT 500(1.035)^x = 5000

In which case x =

His bottom 5 levels of the pyramid would equal to:

(6+5+4+3+2+1)*100 = 2100
+(5+4+3+2+1)*100 = 1500
+(4+3+2+1)*100 = 1000
+(3+2+1)*100 = 600
+ 300

= 5500, plus the top pile that looks incomplete plus what he has in his right hand.

Forget about chipping up, it's not real Poker. Your stack will be relatively "shallow" as most PF raises will be larger than normal and get called more than usual, pot commitment will quickly become an issue. You will first need to wait for that big hand and hope it holds up. Winning that first hand, any possible way is very important. Think of a football game where a team only passes. You will need to wait for big hands and get paid. Lots of incompletions and lots of big passes. Forget about the small-ball continuation bets that scoop up small pots.

My first one was at the 5/10. I am sitting on $900 and OTB face a BLIND raise to $100 and a BLIND call for $100. I look down at KK, I flat. I flop the ultimate nuts: K-4-4. Action: Blind continuation bet for $200 and his buddy calls blind. I call. The turn is meaning less and both player look at their cards. They both go all in with K8 and 46 respectively. I triple up. It was all uphill from there.

The second time was also a 5/10 where I started with $500. First hand KK > AA double up and it was uphill from there.

The 5/5 time was the juiciest game ever. I bought in for $300. I asked a player who was leaving to tell who the fish at the table is so I make them pay with my good hands without worrying about them actually having a monster. First hand AK raise, reraise and 2 people go all in, I call and the reraiser calls. Some of them had no business in the hand. I was up against 66, JJ, and KQ. Ace on the river and I quadruple up. There was also a hand where I had 67 and the flop came 8-9-10. I c/r flop, heavy value the turn, heavy value the river (10). I was called by a hand that did not even have a 10 in it and I double up again.

Here are a few shots I have of various sessions.

This was a 5500ish sess I had at 300-500 (5/5NL)

Two months later, I broke my personal best with this 8000ish one at same stakes.

This is about 11k at the commerce 5/10.

This was a 17k stack I amassed at 5/10 with a 500-2500 buy in structure.

Finally, this is a 26k stack I got at a 700-3000 game with 5/10/20 blinds.

I have a lot more nice session shots in my phone at various stakes; thought these were pretty nice!
