Playing 4/8 limit omaha at the casino. In the SB with k974. 4 players limp, I complete, BB checks, 6 to the flop. Flop comes 544. I bet out, BB raises, 2 call behind, I call. Turn comes a 7. I check, BB bets, middle position raises, CO calls. I tank (30 seconds is considered tanking in this game) and I begrudgingly fold. BB calls. River comes another 7 FML.... BB checks, middle position bets, CO folds, BB calls, middle position tables fives full to win the pot.

I was so steamed.

When do you mean I should have check raised? On a board of 544 and a turn 7 the action led me to believe that someone had pocket fives or pocket sevens. I made the correct read and lay down. I don't fold this hand hand very often but the way the table was playing and the people in the hand I knew I didn't have the best hand. It was just sickening when the second 7 came on the river.

I understand what you guys are saying. I know that getting the most money in the pot in this spot is +EV in the long run. Like I said this isn't a spot I'm folding often. In fact it is the first time I have folded in this spot in this game.

But based on the way the table was playing, and the players in the hand, whom I have hours upon hours of experience playing with, I knew without a doubt that he either had fives or sevens in the hole.

The only thing I can equate it to is folding kings pre-flop in holdem. You can count the number of times you have done it on one hand.
