I like it when people show me they have Aces.

You could post this strat question in the DoN thread in STTF where you might get an answer, or you could post it in BBV where you're going to get flamed and **** on.

Based on you decision making so far I'm going to assume that you played the hand badly.

i mean, a lot of people are assuming this is a snap call for the aces...why?

you're on the bubble of a DoN, and you've got the shorter stack, and you're on the SB. there's a lot of suckout equity in this hand especially considering you can go another orbit without putting in a blind and in that time someone else is likely to get busted

honestly, with the bigger stack i shove ATC here because nobody can call you even if they have aces as long as they have less chips than u

So the whole table has the sb like 2:1 in chips, and hes going to flod AA with like 4 BBs in a turbo?

some guy raised yesterday in a mtt i was at the final table
i folded jacks

another round someone raised and i folded ak

with these hands you're just flipping

you want to flip with tens assuming the best he has is ak (he has that pwned).

yeah i feel you on that one, i'd always fold aces there, i like to see all 5 community cards before i go all in for my tournament life, otherwise you're just leaving your fate down to dumb luck

what you ignore is that there are people who think like you do. let's say next hand someone else has AA and gets all their chips in with it, then they get outdrawn and bust 6th. you have won because you played it safe and let someone else's own aggression and greed ruin them. it doesn't matter if you're in the final 5 with 1 chip or 10k chips, as long as you're there. unless you have the stone nuts at the river there's no need to put your life in at the bubble with a less than 100% chance at winning the pot

if you give your oponements a chance to get two pair a flush or trips which crushes your aces you're a fool. the only possible way to be sure your aces aren't busted on a flop is flopping a set and at 1:7.5 that's just ******ed.

80-20 is not really a big gamble, push pre and hope someone thinks you're trying to steal or calls with qq jj kk ak or aq -_-

giving your oponements a chance to draw out when you have aces is ******ed

but it's your tournament life

this is not a cash game, you cant reload

only ever go all in with the nuts on the river imo

if you get it all in pre you either win or you lose, its a 50/50.

I can always register to a new tournament where someone doesn't donk out my aces pre.

With aces you push, it's easy. And ****ing hell man it's not 50/50.

aa kk 82-18

aa tt 81-19

aa jts 80-20

aa aks 88-12

are you purposely giving bad advice here good sir?

also wanted to add i don't go all in with aces in cash games, that's just silly they will know what you have whereas in a tournament with blinds being expensive steals are so frequent they can't put you on a hand.

can you expand on how you would play aces in a cash game?

before i even sit down at a table i make sure theres a high preflop raise %. i call my aces, hoping to get raised, then make an absurdly large reraise to half his chips. he may think i'm trying to buy it or that i think his pfr is through the roof. if i raise to less than 1-7.5 his stack i'm giving him good chances to call in order to get set. he'll either push or fold here. if no raise pre and you're with aces in called pot i usually fold.
