$200NL

Been playing for almost 8 hours. Stuck for probably 6 hours of it. Raising AK, AQ, 88 whatever, and then bad boards, also missing flush draws and doubling people, getting it it w two pair and getting beat. Whatever. In for $500 total across two tables.

Finally get some hands and catapult up to +$900. Then this jem hits.

Asian kid on button, whom I've noticed has some interesting betting patterns. Best example I can give is a hand where he limps button. Board eventually KJ969, I limp sb w 86, bb checks, checks all the way through to river, I get ready to scoop w 1 pair and in a $6 pot he says, 'Pocket Qs', I though he was joking, he wasn't.
But I've also noticed him occasionally raising and then overbet blasting pots even when the line doesn't really make sense... So this makes me wonder...

Anyway, flash forward, Asian kid on button. ~$450 stack, raises to $12

I'm in SB w/ AQ I Call, there are two other callers. Everything is good so far.

Flop 335 Pot $50
Checks to Asian kid who bets $40
I call, everyone else folds

Turn 9 Pot $130
I check
He bets $120
I think about it, muster up some balls, and act on a read. (more than what I said above went into it, but didn't want to bore you guys, I was pretty sure of this one though)
I jam for (turned out to be) $378 effective
He snap calls.
I say "well, that was fun, **sigh** nice hand"

River K Pot $880

He says, 'I have a king!' Turns over KQ Scoops pot.

I cash out $514 after 8 hours.

Seems a legit strategy

Over an hour and a half he'd showed down several hands ranging from marginal, up to top set, but any hand that went to show down where he had at least top pair he had checked at least one street (flop or turn) regardless of board texture.

He had also had top set twice (w Kings) and then Kings again in a two orbit period. All of these he checked once and then bet close to half pot on both other streets, two of these times checking w flush draws possible on board.

As sort of mention above, two or three times I'd seem him betting very near to pot/over betting pot, and hadn't been called w that line yet. It had seemed very inconsistent w his value ranges which really made me wonder.

Funny how the worst beat you've had in 10 years happens to most people who put in volume everytime they play.

why cash out out if you can get in 400 bbs with aq high on a 3359 rainbow board for value? wp op you are truly an idiot.

I said dirtiest, not worst. I play a bunch of omaha, I'm not a stranger to 1 outers and bad board runs. Having a read that good, getting called anyway, and then having him hit a 6% shot for 400BB, idk, whatever, I suppose it's the internet and this is probably the board for it if no one thinks it's that bad.

Touche, Ireland. It was 430 and had to work at 9; there's also a certain point in some sessions where you just get all done being butt f*cked for the evening, so that went into it too. Still, can't actually fight you on this one.

the worst beats are these, were one makes an unstandard play based on a read, get it right, and then lose to a 15% or w/e.

sucks.
