I think you extracted the most value without risking too much.

even though your hand is likely to be the best, based on your opponent's tendencies, you could be beat. while your play is conservative, and maybe an ultra-thin value bet could have been made. at 1/2, though, if an opponent is willing to put money into the pot, you are beat 99% of the time. getting more money into the pot with the best hand and not putting too much in with a highly vulernable hand is what seperates losing players from the winning players. good, smart, long-term play.

Unfortunately this isn't far from the truth. I glanced at the flop and my brain read it as "open ended straight draw with draw to the nuts." I never even really gave it a second look and was all but done with the hand until the chips miraculously appeared in front of me.

I thought I had won with AQ high.

Would love to know what BB is thinking. He may not have played it worse than me, but it's damn close. I'm prob on his bumhunt list now.

ya, 99% of the time both opponents have AQ so it was +ev not to bloat the pot and pay more rake.

He didn't think he could make OP lay down nut straight, so he thought it's just better to check it down when he knows he's beat.

So you were thinking "Should I try and get my stack in the middle or should I play like a ****** so I can make a dumb thread in BBV?"

You chose poorly.
