Hero (UTG): ~40,000. top 3 in chips. 21 years old, playing tight. Won a huge pot after flopping a set and hadn't played a hand in 1-2 orbits. C-betting 100% and showed one big bluff early after raising turn and shoving river with air in a 3-way pot.

Villian (BB): ~30,000. Young player who was playing TAG. He was the only one at my table who had over 20,000. On the tighter side and was the only other legitimately good player at the table. He ended up getting 3rd in the tourney.

I agree. I knew I could credibly rep AA, KK, AQ, or sets with my 3-bet. I was playing very tight preflop and had a really good table image. I felt like I had 95% fold equity even if he had QJ, or QK or something. For some reason I just had that feeling that he was never calling a shove here.

even accounting for a final table payout that makes like 7000$ in prize money if there was 100 people in the tournament. Even if 30,000 was the average stack at that level and a starting stack + add-on is 13,000 chips, we can safely assume there was probably at least 130 people in the tournament.

80 x 95 = 7600
50 x 75 = 3750

= 11350

with the average first place payout in a live tournament of this size being 25%

should be about 2800$ for first place
