Do casinos ever get upset when players are deliberately Martingale-ing? I know they throw a hissy fit if they catch you counting cards, so I was wondering what they would think of Martingale...

I would imagine they don't care because eventually, even if you are only doing $5 bet, you are going to have to go to high stakes to try to get a $5 win. some website said if you lose 13 hands in a row making $5 bet the 14th hand is going to cost you 40k

I'm betting $1 at a time unless I lose, then I double my bet. I double every time I lose until I win, then I go back to betting $1 again.

Took a $32 hit and decided not to go for the $64, so I'm up $175 right now. once I get to a $1000 blackjack bankroll, I will take a shot at $5 bets. If I get down to 700, I will go back to $1 bets.

zomg i think i just had a relvazation. if this system truly doesnt work and you eventually lose it all, then bet with the REVERSE martingalinging system. start at 1 and keep doubling until you lose a hand! If the regular doesnt work, the reserve had to work!

Serious question:

Assuming he has an infinite bankroll and plays optimal strategy the house has what a 1% edge so he is flipping 51:49 for $1 in the houses favour and a slight loser.

How do you factor in the EV gained that when he doubles on say a $16 or $32 bet he is getting a good chunk of his money in relative to original bet in a +EV spot?

OP may be onto something. Blackjack here I come!

I tried this once. Made 700€ in about 2 hours. started from 40€. planned on doing it just ½ hour each day instead of working.. started looking for a boat + house to buy because I found a way to beat the system. Next day I busted my 800€ roll lol
