I find it amazingly coincidental that Elky wins 2 WCOOP bracelets within days of each other, and WHOA HO amazingly enough the week he is featured prominently for the WSOP ME coverage. 1 bracelet with 1,000+ players then the next with 9,000+ players. I've seen many of the hands this "great" player shoved with and it's AMAZING how these held up or he sucked out. Do you have any idea the level of improbability this is that he could win both of these online within days of each other with these fields?? I KNOW the flamers will say "Elky's great you're a moron RH go to hell' but I find it VERY interesting indeed.

I also find it AMAZING that carter king wins the ME of WCOOP ME 2008 then WOW wins the Sunday Million only months later!!! Yes flamers, I am sure it's just 'skill' yet again... right sure

Wait there's more Terence Chan winning TWO SCOOP bracelets on the same day and WHAT DO YOU KNOW he used to WORK for PokerStars!!! Wait wait I know he's a great limit player right that's the ONLY reason right

I am sure Vanessa Rousso being runner up to the WCOOP in 2007 ME is just SKILL as well.

It's amazing the # of coincidental things that occur on said site. But I am sure having a 'cool' successful live player (note Elky's online SNG stats for some related online comparisons) to market as a COOL.EUROPEAN.BALLER. will bring in more $$$ for PokerStars. Or having Vanessa Rousso be successful wouldn't be helpful to have as she has assets others do not.

And yes flamers I know of Elky's live success in the Stars Caribbean Adventure, high rollers, and Rousso's as well but it's well known that online events while they have bad players, they are harder generally. Am I to believe that skill ALONE is what helps these people win??

And finally, I am sure Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko will be contacted soon for a Stars sponsorhip. Another amazing coincidence... WPT main event and now WCOOP ME 2009

Why do I mention this in this thread? I just can't help but WONDER if Stars will do ANYTHING to market their company, whether it's bending the rules of a promotion that they help start (Boku 2) or bending results to their favor. And if ANYTHING is being done, if you aren't on the winning team, why suit up to play any more when it's nearly impossible to win??

Just a thought, flame away, I expect to get bashed hard for this and I welcome it.

do you really think someone is gonna read the whole post?

its all ok, you are in a safety room...

sure they will. the people on 2+2 thrive on bashing people. they will be attracted to this like flies on you know what and tell me how i am nuts, how i am a whiner, how i know nothing, how i have no proof blah blah blah blah blah

EXPLAIN these coincidences. it's quite amazing the results of a few players, the Elky 2 bracelets thing was just the final straw for me. anyone that thinks that that shouldn't raise an eyebrow lives behind a cloud of ignorance.

ONLINE ruige, ONLINE. i am talking about ONLINE results where things can be CONTROLLED. Oh that's right Tokwiro says thngs are fine now, AP is in the past. I am sure it isn't possible OTHER sites couldn't control things as well when the market is drying up and they need new fish to come in.

Hey I know, let's push a cool European StarCraft player who already has proved he can score live and one of the few attractive chicks that can actually play poker!!! Wait we can't push them unless they have great results to market!!

WALLLA!!!! Great results to market!!!!!

rockyholly,

your the reason why i hate ub so much... it gives players like you finally a reason to say poker is rigged... must be the reason for losing? I have always been a skeptic as well thats why i play on pokerstars. Im sure if anyone was legit it would be the kingpins of online gambling....

seriously they would have to be fkn ******s to risk such a succeful business. why would you risk it not a good business decision... thats why i know pstars is legit cause they are not stupid, the potenial losses that could be created would not be worth it... coming from the ceo point of view... and no dont say ub risk it, ub is not in the same league as pstars no one is,

PASS or FAIL does not matter any more: the book boku87 is going to write will be the smash hit of 2010

can you think how many people dream of making a one digit into a four digit short time?

btw boku played yesterday...doesnt look good at all:

Games Played 494
Av. Profit -$6
Av. Stake 25
Av. ROI $-17%
Total Profit -$2,781

edit: I just did some thinking, I was watching him last night playing and I actually didnt know that he was playing the 18man sngs which Im not a big fan of unless thats all your playing for the day. Multitabling 30-50 tables is fine as long as you know exactly what sngs your playing, to me its easier to keep track of itm position so you know when your itm, playing 180, 45 and 18 man...and 50 tabling...I dont know. I would prefer only 45 and 180 or only 18man.

Here are some stats as proof.
In last nights session, of his $2.7k loss $1.8k was 18 man and $560 was from the 180man, the two hardest turneys to keep track of because of itm position....just a thought

I really hope though that hes gonna win this challenge and get his game together because it would be great for online poker. And it would be great advertising for his book...which doesnt look too good now since hes been stuck for weeks.

Thought this thread was about Boku87 and his 100k challenge. I really like the fact he is experiencing alot of adversity with this challenge. Interesting to watch how he deals with it. I think he should do 300 a day $12 dollar or $6.50's for a couple of days to regroup and get the momentum back. Just my opinion Boku. Good luck

+1

He was crushing those like no other ... not sure how the extra FPP fall into the equation for Boku when playing higher limits (clearing $ bonuses), but playing lower limits seem like the right choice to get back some momentum.

Btw ... how come Boku hasn't writen anything in this thread for ages?

Would love to hear some of his thoughts and not only read 1 update every month in his blog.

You really can't wrap your brain around the idea that if it wasn't Elky it would just be someone else?

Id like to know what his thoughts are as well. I mean after his last session he must be thinking of changing his strategy. 4000 games and no +roi? thats gotta be clear that something has to change, either he is simply off his game, or hes just not playing the right strategy. Either way, its obviously too early for any conclusions but its gonna be interesting to see the way he is gonna change his approach cause clearly he has to.

Also an update of his chip count would be nice and what bonuses he has cleared etc.

I can't believe this challenge is still ongoing!

PokerStars had a blog and was actually giving him prime placement in their news feed when you log in. Why are there no updates now? It sounds like he's been hanging around the same mark for awhile, but of course that was going to happen at some point. Everyone should realize it's not going to be a linear line straight up to $100k.

I was hoping the idea of the challenge was to follow him (aka his posts, his thoughts, his strategy, his bankroll management, etc.) real-time and see the ups and downs and everything inbetween. If it's just a few blog entries in the beginning when he's crushing and a couple at the end when he hits $100k, that's not very exciting.

I think this challenge is great marketing by Stars as the average fish can't relate to Negreanu/Moneymaker/Hachem/Raymer. That's like a fish hitting the lottery. If Stars can educate them that they can play online, study a little bit, work less than a "normal" job, and make $50k+/year to start, that's a great marketing strategy.

If he is posting a daily blog, please disregard this post. Btw, I'm confident he'll crush this bet.

Go Boku!!!

+1 to playing some major sunday mtts.

Could you post a comparison between his results above $27 buy-in and below $27 buy-in?

I'd like to see wether or not his winrate (profit per game) is better in the lower buy-in Sit n gos for the complete challenge. Not sure what kind of factor the FPPs are for him here, but I think Boku could easily grind to $100K just playing the under $27 buy-in games.
