I was just making up the draw poker thing for sport. It's varied from game to game in my experience - I've had someone say that a straight flush without wild cards is more powerful than five of a kind, but if there's a wild card in your straight flush, five of a kind wins. Are there widely established rules for poker with wilds?

if your playing w/ wilds, the chances are noone there knows the rules.

if i have 5 wild cards and you have 4 aces and a wild card we chop w/ 5 aces.

Actually that is in correct. If you have 5 wild cards you only have a royal as you can not create your own 'kind'(this is irrelevant with suits obviously(

this is not true. however this is 1/2 true when using "bugs" (i think they are called that). they only help w/ flushes, str8s and act as aces.

I love these threads where everyone acts so serious about something entirely absurd and they pretend that nothing is funny. And here I was thinking there were no people like me

Wow, my threads are getting posted across forums now.

Honestly, it's pretty funny if you take the time to read the entire rambling mess that is the OP of that thread and the subsequent posts up to the point where I try to actually reconstruct the hand he described.

I think I've discovered the earliest known reference to this joke:

Player 1: I play the Seven Serpents.
Player 2: But wait! That is not even a proper card to be used in this game!
Player 3: Eh, I've heard this one before.

I hereby bump the funniest post in BBV's history.

How was this comic not included in the MS paints contest?

I like how everyone has their knife on the table. It reminds me of the Glock thread in Home Poker.

According to Robert's Rules, the Draw 4 Uno card plays as follows:

PROCEDURE

If a player wins a hand using the Draw 4 Uno card, the gain the privilege of drawing 4 cards on a future hand of their choosing, at which point he will be playing PLO8 while his opponents continue to play holdem.

1. If the player chooses to use the draw in a hand with 4 or more opponents, he may take one card from each opponent and follow standard PLO8 rules. He is the only player that may have the low by default unless another player chooses to also use their draw.

2. If the player chooses to use the draw with 2 opponents in the hand, he will take both of each players cards.

3. If the player chooses to use the draw against 1 opponent, he will take both of that players cards and draw 2 from the deck.

4. In cases 2 and 3, the player will be able to use the 2 extra cards (of his choosing) and be given a freeroll hand of blackjack against the dealer for the amount of the dealer's stack or size of the pot, which ever is larger. If the pot is larger, the extra bets will be divided amongst the other players at the table and added to the dealer's stack.
