This looks like a variation of the "woah, someone has too much free time" snark. It honestly used to annoy me. But then the Baader-Meinhof effect kicked in and I started seeing it everywhere. Interestingly, people almost always direct it at projects that are particularly ambitious or difficult or grand in scale. I've learned two things from this. The first is that any time someone calls me a loser for making something, it probably means that I did an awesome job.

The second is that it's mainly a reflection on the speaker. Sometimes it means "I don't have time to do things like this." Some people are busy and can't have hobbies. Sometimes it means "I can't do things like this," because they don't have talent or can't understand why someone would enjoy creating something. Either way, the remark reeks of bitterness and jealousy, unlike generic comments such as "this sucks". I feel fortunate that I have the time and ability to create things that amuse myself and others.

If you mean any normal person that doesn't know who Prahlad Friedman is, what the the UB scandal is, etc., then maybe you're right. But for people who get the joke (i.e., most people who read this forum), this is awesome. Is that why you don't get it? Actually, never mind. I don't really care.
